"To the craftsmen of the forge"

I own serval Petrograd forge axes and I wanted to express how highly I regard them, in direct comparison to the famous Swedish brands as well as other traditional made axe and edge tools from The UK. The 65g steel used is exceptional for the task. A carving axe is by far my most used tool along side a single edged axe from Gransfors. I use these 2 axes all the time, hundreds of hours with each in hand. The 65g steel takes a edge easily and is truly amazingly resilient to wear and damage through working on seasoned hard wood. Gransfors steel seems a little softer, as such sharpens a bit quicker, but overall I think the Russian steel is my favourite. The axe ‘sings’ as it works, it is a delight to use. I have several other tools including a adze and various detail carving tools, again all excellent. I have another Petrograd forge axe in the historical bearded style which is as beautiful as it is functional. I note so many of the axes have a nod to historical axe patterns and shapes, this passion for keeping the past alive makes me very happy. And everything from the forge I’ve ever used is a true hard working tool. Due to the current political climate I do not believe I can purchase your products in the UK at this point. I look forward to being able to acquire more of your axes and carving tools in the future. Held against competition from tools made I’m Scandinavia, the UK and Northern Spain I think they are exceptional wood working tools with a price that is very reasonable for tools of such quality. I am happy for you to quote me in any of the above. Hope everyone in the forge is well and in good health. King Regards, Ben
